I’m Barb Tate and I’m running for Redmond City Council. As a 32-year Redmond resident and former owner of Tate and Tate Catering, I care deeply and am invested in our community’s future.
The issues facing our community are too big for a divided Redmond to tackle. I am confident in our ability to come together for what is best for our city.
Water Conservation: Our efforts should aim at engaging the community in sustainable best practices, including xeriscape-type landscaping and tiered rates system.
Develop a Balanced Fire Preparedness Plan for the Dry Canyon: Protect a healthy ecosystem while securing the homes along the east and west rims. Thoughtful leadership means matching real-world fire mitigation with an actionable preparedness plan. I am committed to resilient urban planning and responsible decision-making that keeps our community thriving without risking our families or our neighborhoods.
Support Economic Development: Bringing diverse jobs to Redmond ensures our city and our families thrive. As part of our economic strategy, we must invest in youth-oriented programs—using our new recreational center to provide safe, fun, and engaging activities for youth aged 12-17.
Temporary Facilities: Redmond has made great strides in creating accountable temporary facilities that help our neighbors. We can build on this success by strengthening connections to vital resources and supporting safe, structured new programs.
